Take It To The Limit - A Tribute To The Eagles
Went to see the Eagles Tribute by the band
called Take It To The Limit and thoroughly enjoyed the show.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first got there.
The band came out on stage in total darkness, the curtains were already
open. When the lights came up I saw
4 guitarists, one singer, a drummer and someone on the piano.
All of them were dressed casually and it made me wonder what kind of show
I was in for. BUT THEN they started
playing “Heartache Tonight” and I just sat there in awe.
These guys were GOOD! They
sounded just like the Eagles.
They proceeded to sing several more songs, “Already
Gone”, “In The City”, “James Dean”, and “One Of These Nights”.
The lead singer Erik Rankin really hit the mark on his singing.
Erik told us that they were not going to do a lot of talking during the
show, they just wanted to play the music – Hey, that’s what we came for J.
Larry Holiday – Lead Guitar and Music Director took over to sing
“Life’s Been Good”. If I
closed my eyes I would swear I was listening to Joe Walsh.
I felt like I should have been raising my arm with a lighter and swaying
to the music. I looked around the
room and there were people standing, dancing, singing along, and having a great
time. Who doesn’t know the words
to even a few Eagles songs? Most everyone took a turn at lead for a song or more.
In all they played 19 songs, including an encore song when the crowd
stood and clapped after the last song of the evening – “Hotel California”.
The encore song was “Life In The Fast Lane” and I think that is just
where these guys are headed – the fast lane to being a big hit in Branson this
year. I will be back to see the
show again I can assure you. I would say that this show would appeal to both kids and
older folks alike. The Eagles music
has been with us for some time now – spanning generations.
Go, see the show and enjoy Take It To The Limit as they perform the
Tribute To The Eagles show! These are the songs as I remember them:
Heartache Tonight, Already Gone, In The City, James Dean, Ol’ 55, One
Of These Nights, Life’s Been Good, Love Will Keep Us Alive, Your Lying Eyes, 7
Bridges Road, Tequila Sunrise, There’s A Hole, Witchy Woman, Desperado, Take
It Easy, Take It To The Limit, Hotel California, Life In The Fast Lane. (I
missed one of them in my notes … oops) These guys are truly wonderful. To
