The Rankin Brothers 2009

Went to the Rankin Brothers show the other night and two things really stood out.  The singing was wonderful - if you closed your eyes, you'd swear you were listening to the original artists, and the sheer amount of happiness coming from the stage.  Mark & Matt Rankin just overflow with happiness and it's contagious.  They are truly wonderful people and put on an awesome show for you.

Now on with the show, You'll hear solo artists like "Old Time Rock & Roll" by Bob Seger, "Sweet Caroline" and "She's Got The Way To Move Me" by Neil Diamond, and "Moon River" by Andy Williams.  Also Groups like the Everly Brothers - "Wake Up Little Susie", Simon & Garfunkel - "Homeward Bound",  Moody Blues - "In Your Wildest Dreams", Righteous Brothers - "Unchained Melody" and "You've Lost That Loving Feeling".  The Rankinettes, Lori Kelly, Leanna Arney, and Betsy Butler, sing backup and a few solos of their own during the show.  Lori helped Mark during the Sony & Cher classic "I Got You Babe".  The girls also sang, "Be My Little Baby", "One Fine Day", "Mr Postman", and "You Can't Hurry Love", "Do The Locomotion", and "I Only Want To Be With You".

Mark had fun dressing up in character to sing a few songs like Evlis singing "It's Now Or Never", Willie Nelson singing "Always On My Mind", and George Strait singing "Blue Clear Sky".  Matt took his turn as Buddy Holly singing "Peggy Sue", "Oh Boy", and "That'll Be The Day".  Time and time again you'll hear songs that sound like your listening to a Juke Box of the original artists.  It was truly a delight.  Make sure to stay after the show and talk to Mark or Matt.  They truly are the nicest people you ever want to meet.
